Hydrolysis is a process used in feathers and hairs with the aim of making the protein called keratin digestible. This breakage of the protein chain occurs with the increase in temperature and the pressurization with water vapour present in the product itself, and the degree of digestibility of the protein depends on the degree of hydrolysis.

The hydrolysis process can be carried out in a Continuous Hydrolyser and Standard Batch Cooker.
